Advisory consulting services for buying, re-merchandising, window concepts and displays, in-store events, and VIC programs and incentives.
My work for retail clients is a blend of art and science. As a former high-end retail boutique owner, and with almost two decades of my career serving high-end retailers and clinets, I understand that retail business success is by design. I work with small retail shops and boutiques to help my clients reach the next level of store presentation and customer engagement.
A focus on what works
A retail company's buying strategy, visual concepts and displays, and customer events are three areas that require regular innovation and investment in order for a retail company to be competitive, well-regarded by its clientele, and consistently successful in achieving its sales objectives. I consult with my clients to help them develop new and fresh ideas that help to keep their customers engaged and consistently returning more for.
My retail consulting client projects range from strategic buying, to refreshing floor sets, launching new products/lines in-store, creating fresh window concepts and displays, and planning in-store events.
Areas of expertise
Buying & Re-Merchandising
Identifying lasting trends that are shaping the market and customer behavior is both an art and a science. The key is to be proactive and to buy "smart." I help my clients to think holistically about their lines, collections, and specialty items, and then develop a buying strategy that is reflective of market trends and their customer base.
Window Concepts & Displays
Windows and displays can be a visual masterpiece that directly drives customer behavior and engagement. They should evolve and change both to keep your look and appeal fresh, as well as to incorporate new merchandise and entice customers to seek out what's new. I work with clients to create a strategy for their windows and displays (seasonal, theme-based, product-line focused, etc.) and then help set, reset, style, and restyle their windows and displays to stay competitive.
Retail stores and boutiques have a unique opportunity for quality hands-on engagement not just with products but customers as well. In-store events can be an incredibly effective opportunity to rouse customer interest in the launch of a new product line, refreshed store displays, seasonal changes/updates, or hosting special events with featured guests such as product creators, authors, or other personalities or local experts. I work with my clients to plan and execute the very best in-stores events that get their customers to stop in and engage.
VIC Programs & Incentives
Very-Important-Client (VIC) programs are critical to establishing and retaining lasting customer and client relationships, based on trust and engagement. Additionally, incentivization can be an effective tool to cultivate customer loyalty and drive sales. I work with my clients to develop thoughtfully planned VIC programs that control costs and develop the right kind of customer relationship over the long term.
